Course
Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) department was established to develop much needed professionals required for the growth of modern industries. The focus of undergraduate program in IPE is on manufacturing and quality, process design and productivity improvement, dynamics and control, management and host of core subjects to meet the emerging technological needs of the industry. The curriculum is continually reviewed to be in line with the changing trends in the field. The experienced and dedicated faculty make a continuous and conscious effort to bridge the gap between the industries and the department by personalizing learning and teaching with the implementation of several active learning techniques, open ended experiments, mini and capstone projects.
The undergraduate programme in Industrial and Production Engineering was initially introduced in 1981 in the Department of Mechanical Engineering; however,realizing the importance of Production Engineering, a separatefull-fledged Department was set up in 1985 with the primary objective of carrying out teaching and research in the board areas of production and industrial engineering with specialization in Metal Cutting, Machine Tools, CAD-CAM, Robotics, Management, Finance and Quality Control, Advanced Manufacturing Practices, Advanced Materials and their characterization and many more.
Duration : 4 Years
Eligibility :Passed in 2nd PUC/12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the languages and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in Aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology/ Electronics/ Computer (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)
