B.Sc. Biochemistry - (Genetics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology)
- Genetics : B.Sc. Genetics or Bachelor of Science in Genetics is an undergraduate Genetics Science course. Genetics covers the study of the science of heredity and variation in living organisms which further then studies heredity and ways in which traits are passed down from one generation to another.
- Biochemistry : Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry or B.Sc. Biochemistry (B.Sc. Biochem) is an undergraduate course in chemical and physio-chemical processes. Biochemistry is the study of using Chemical processes and principles in studying biological process and living matter. It is a branch of science which deals with chemistry which is applied to the study of living organisms and the atoms and molecules which comprise living organisms.
- Biotechnology : B.Sc. in Biotechnology is an undergraduate course, involving an advanced study of the cellular and bimolecular processes for development of a variety of technologies and products that contribute to improving people’s lives and health. Biotechnology is a part of Applied Biology, which simply stated, is the combination of biology with technology so as to alter cells for manipulation. The course familiarizes candidates with the usage of living organisms and bio processes in the field of medicine, technology, engineering, and other bio products.
Duration
It is a 3 year, 6 semester full time undergraduate degree course, affiliated to Bangalore University, Bangalore and recognized by Govt.of Karnataka.
Eligibility criteria
Should have cleared the Pre-University examination of Karnataka, or an equivalent examination conducted by any other board/ Pre-University or 10+2, equivalent examination should have minimum 35% or pass marks aggregate in PCB/CBZ.
