B.Sc. Computer Science - Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science (SMCs)
- Statistics : Statistics is the discipline that concerns the collection, organization, displaying, analysis, interpretation and presentation of data. In applying statistics to a scientific, industrial, or social problem, it is conventional to begin with a statistical population or a statistical model to be studied.
- Mathematics : Mathematics is the study of quantity, structure, space, and change. A Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics is a culmination of in-depth knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, calculus and other theories. It also explores related topics like Computer Science and Statistics. It helps students in building a good foundation base for pursuing higher studies.
- Computer Science : B.Sc. Computer Science is an undergraduate program which deals with subjects and topics related to computer application and services. It is the study of principles and fundamentals of computers, where the latest technologies and trends are the most important topics. The course empowers students to deal with the technicalities and issues with authorized knowledge of databases and analytical skills.
Duration
It is a 3 year, 6 semester full time undergraduate degree course, affiliated to Bangalore University, Bangalore and recognized by Govt.of Karnataka.
Specific Objectives of the course are :
- To learn in detail Statistics and their application.Operation Research, Mathematical modelling etc.
- To learn advance mathematics, such as numerical analysis, calculus, linear programming, complex analysis.
- To learn advanced Computer Science languages, different operating system.
Eligibility criteria
Should have cleared the Pre-University examination of Karnataka, Pre-University Board or an equivalent examination conducted by any other board/ Pre-University or 10+2, equivalent examination should have minimum 35% or pass marks aggregate in PCM.
