Course
M.A. English Or Master Of Arts In English Is A Postgraduate Academic Degree Program. The Curriculum Of The Postgraduate Degree Program In English Consists Of Poetry, Prose, Drama, Fiction, Non-Fiction And Critical Theories In English. The Course Includes British Literature, Linguistics, Communicative English, English Language Teaching, Literatures In English, Literatures In Translation, Gender Studies, Cultural Studies And Postcolonial Studies Which Provides A Diverse Flavour To It. M.A. English course includes the study of Indian writings in English from early times to contemporary ones. It prepares students for teaching and creative English writing. Students also get opportunities to build their career in the field of journalism.
Duration
It is a 2 year, 4 semester full time postgraduate degree course, affiliated to Bangalore University, Bangalore and recognized by Govt.of Karnataka.
Eligibility
Graduates who have secured 40% in the aggregate of all subjects and 50% marks in the cognate subject in the qualifying University examinations are eligible to apply. Candidates with B.A, B.Sc., or B.Com Degree are eligible to apply provided they have scored 55% in the language concerned in the degree course.
