Course
M. Tech Food process Technology is the study of food chemicals, nutrition value and biochemistry concepts related to different arenas of food and packaging items. Students are trained on basic engineering topics in reference to fruits and vegetables, grains, oil seeds, plantation crops, meat, poultry, milk process and preservation techniques.Different studies related to Post Harvest Technology such as drying and dehydration, heat and mass transfer, Storage Engineering, Seed Technology and physical properties of biological materials are an integral part of the course.The program makes the students well aware with the science of commercial production of safe wholesome food from raw material. Along with this Physics, Thermo bacteriology and predictive microbiology are also some important concepts of M. Tech Food Process Engineering.
Duration : 2 Years
Eligibility
Students who have minimum 60% in B. Tech. or B.E. are eligible for the course. Some colleges conduct entrance exams which students need to clear to apply for M. Tech. Food Process Engineering.
