Course
Entomology deals with the study of insects with relationship to humans and its effect on the environment. Man since epoch has a deeper connection with the land and the species existing in nature. Insects play a major role in agriculture and this study of its population with implications in agriculture is coined as Agricultural Entomology. This program is an integrated study of applied ecology in understanding the dynamics involved in plant protection and the population of insects.
The program of Masters in Agricultural Entomology dwells in the niche sector of agriculture pertaining to the role played by various insects and their effect on the environment. The focus of the program is to impart students with knowledge not only of insect pests but also the benefit of arthropods a kind of insect with its role in controlling biological conditions and pollination. This program thus builds a strong ground for students who wish to pursue research studies in Agricultural Entomology.
Duration : 3 Years
Eligibility : The applicants should have completed their 4 year Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or any equivalent examination with minimum aggregate marks of 50% and above from a recognized university listed under UGC
