Course
Master of Science in Counselling Psychology is better known as MSc in Counselling is a two-year program that is under the domain of Psychology that is provided by the University of Kerala Thiruvananthapuram. The course is a postgraduate program and is formulated for students to deliver students in-depth knowledge in different fields like psychological, mental health, and human developmental principles. The minimum requirement of doing this program the students must complete their graduation from any recognized university in any stream where psychology is added as their subject or any related fields such as BSW, B.Ed, Home Science, Child Development, etc. If the students score a minimum of 50% marks in every subject then they are eligible for doing this course. University of Kerala shall possess a curriculum with topics such as Foundations of Counseling Psychology, Social and Cultural Processes, Life-span Psychology, Qualitative Research Methods, Approaches to Counseling Psychology, Positive Psychology, Quantitative Research Methods in Psychological Counseling, Psychopathology, Individual Counseling Skills-1 and 2, Professionalization, Seminar, Applications of Statistics in Behavioral Sciences, Assessment in Counseling Psychology, Professionalization Seminar, Education Counseling, Supervised Practicum, Family and Marital Counseling, Counseling Project, Group Work in Counseling, Dissertation (Optional), Multicultural Counseling Skills -Professionalization Seminar. After completing these studies the students can work on different job roles such as counselor, psychologist, career guide, lecturer, etc.
