Course
M.Sc. Genetics is the branch of Science which deals with the study of animals, plants and human beings. The candidates of Genetics generally study the genetic variation, genes, and heredity in living organisms. Genetics covers the study of biology, heredity, the science of genes, and variation in living organisms. Genetics manage the atomic structure and function of genes, with gene behavior in the context of a cell as well as an organism (e.g. epigenetic and dominance), with examples of legacy from parent to posterity, and with gene appropriation, variety, and change in populations.
Duration
It is a 2 Year, 4 Semesters full time master degree course, affiliated to Bangalore University, Bangalore and recognized by Govt. of Karnataka.
Eligibility criteria
Pass in B.Sc Degree with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate of all the optional subjects with any three of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Botany, Applied Botany, Applied Zoology, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, and Genetics. For M.Sc Courses, Graduate should have secured 40% marks in the aggregate of all subjects (including languages).
