Bachelor of technology (B.Tech) Biotechnology is an UG Programme. Bachelor of technology (B.Tech) Biotechnology course offered by Vignan's Foundation For Science, Technology and Research Guntur. Department of Biotechnology has well qualified and experienced faculty who are specialists in the areas of Bioinformatics, Environmental Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Mass Transfer Separations, Biochemical Reaction Engineering, Genetic Engineering etc. The faculty members are actively involved in Research activities in the field of their specialization. They have published good number of research papers in International / National level Journals and Conferences.
The Department attributes its success to the creative and innovative outlook of the students. The Department encourages students to participate in both co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Students are encouraged to carry out mini research projects and to present their findings in the symposiums and conferences. The Department helps the students to undergo Industrial Training programme to get hands on experience at the end of their sixth semester. The school is supported by central level placement and training cell, which provides assistance to the students in getting training in different areas of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics and to get jobs in the industry and research institutions. The faculty also guides the students in pursuing the higher studies and research in reputed Indian and foreign universities.
The Department of Biotechnology drawing upon its strength of high qualified, well trained faculty, state of art infrastructure, innovative teaching methodology, regular counseling sections acts as a powerful catalyst to affect the Metamorphosis of an average student into a confident, highly employable engineer who is abreast of the latest and fast changing technological trends in the market.Department of Biotechnology offers the following UG and PG programmes.
Duration : 4 Years
Eligibility :
- Candidates born on or after 1st July, 1999 and a pass in Intermediate or its equivalent with minimum CGPA of 7.0 in Andhra Pradesh or above 60% aggregate marks in Telangana and other South Indian States are eligible to appear for the admission test. The minimum eligibility for the students of North, North East and other states is 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
- Admission into B.Tech. / B.Pharm programmes will be through Vignan's Scholastic Aptitude Test, V-SAT an on-line test, conducted by Vignan's Deemed to be University on all India basis.
- Candidates qualified in V-SAT / AP or TS EAMCET / JEE(Mains) / JEE(Advanced) with a minimum CGPA of 7.0 in Andhra Pradesh or above 60% aggregate marks in Telangana and other South Indian States in the +2 / Intermediate examination and 50% aggregate marks in North, North East and other states of India.
