Course
M.Tech. in Power Electronics and Drives is an emerging discipline of engineering, which essentially involves concepts and processes of the conversion of power for efficient utilization. Students enrolled to the course are taught on an advanced level about the technology used in energy conversion, switching electrical machines, drives, industrial equipment, power systems, and applications of fast-developing electronics such as electrical machines and power systems.The course’s curriculum has been designed to impart to eligible students both practical and theoretical knowledge in the various techniques at work in easy-to-use tools for electrical, electromagnetic, electromechanical, thermal, circuit, control, and system design. The program also involves advanced lessons in design, modelling, simulation, and synthesis of power converter-based systems used for the conversion of electric energy.

Eligibility
- Graduation (B. Tech/B.E.) in any of EEE, ECE, E&I, Electronics, and Instrumentation, completed from a recognized university
- A minimum aggregate score of 60% (55% for SC/ST candidates), at the level of graduation.
