Course
MDS in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is a postgraduate program in dentistry.MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery course involves the diagnosis, surgical and adjunctive treatment of ailments, wounds, and deformities of the human jaws and related oral and facial structures. It is likewise a surgery to treat numerous illnesses, wounds and imperfections in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and delicate tissues of the oral (mouth) and maxillofacial (jaws and face) district.
Eligibility
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or equivalent qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India.
- A minimum aggregate score of 50% at the level of graduation.
- Completion of a 1-year compulsory internship.
Duration: 3 years
Higher Studies
Successful postgraduates of the course interested in further studies in the discipline may go for pursuing M.Phil. or Ph.D., or post-doctoral studies in Dental Science to pursuing teaching the discipline as profession.
