Master of Technology (M.Tech) Machine Design
M.Tech. Machine Design
Course
The Department of Mechanical Engineering started with the inception of the Institute in the academic year 2009-10 with an intake of 60 and soon doubled to 120 in the very next academic year. The department offers Diploma, Undergraduate and Post graduate programs. It has well equipped Laboratories with state-of-the-art equipments. The department consists of well experienced team of dedicated faculty members who are highly qualified in their respective fields of specialization. Some of the faculty members have PhD degrees and the others are pursuing PhD. A Post Graduation Program in the specialization of ‘Machine Design’ started subsequently in the Academic Year 2013-14 with an intake 18 is performing exceedingly well with all the students placed in reputed companies.
M.Tech in Machine Design is a post graduate program covering the essential concepts and processes involved in the design and manufacture of machines and machine- related items. The program is an offshoot of Mechanical Engineering, focusing on machine design using analytical, numerical and experimental approaches. The program curriculum involves Analysis of static and dynamic forces to design machine elements to meet strength, safety, reliability and cost specifications. The program focuses on Design of Mechanisms and Components using Analytical, Numerical and Experimental approaches. It aims to provide knowledge of behaviour of materials and systems in both elastic and plastic ranges, failure modes and mechanisms in both static and dynamic conditions.
