Course
Master of Philosophy Program in Sociology is aimed at generating future researchers who would be equipped with an ability to develop a critical understanding of social realities. This Program is a research degree and it would therefore be beneficial for individuals who wish to pursue a career in research, be it in academics or in development sector or in industry. The program would also be useful in providing a platform for individuals who wish to pursue their Ph.D. degree in future. By making the students undergo rigorous academic exercise it is an aim of the Department of Sociology to produce a group of students through the M.Phil. Program who would be in a position to generate an atmosphere of knowledge creation and thereby contribute towards the growth of society.

Eligibility
Basic eligibility for the program is a pass at the Postgraduate level examination with an aggregate of 55% marks or equivalent grade in Sociology from any recognized University in India or abroad recognized by UGC / AIU are eligible to apply.
