About Us
N.K. Jabshetty Ayurvedic Medical College & Post Graduate Centre, Bidar is a premier centre for Ayurvedic Medical Education and Research. It was established by Sri Chidambara Shikshana Samsthe headed by Param Poojya Sri Sri Shiva Kumar Swamiji of Sri Siddharudh Math aimed to provide professional education & enrich the students and effective health care to the suffering human being of this region and to propagate the Indian System of Medicine- Ayurveda with the motto of “Health for All”On 19th September 1991, the college was inaugurated by Sri Shivraj Patil, the Honorable Speaker of Lok Sabha.The undergraduate course of Ayurveda i.e. BAMS was successively started in the academic year 1991 – 92 with an intake of 60 students.As crown to this institution the college got the permission to start Post Graduate course of Ayurveda i.e. MD / MS Ayurveda from the academic year 2000 – 01 in two specializations i.e. MD in Rachana Sharir (Anatomy) and MS in Shalya Tantra (Surgery) with an intake 05 students in each department. In the same year, MS in Prasuti Tantra and Stree Roga (Gynaecology & Obstetrics) was started with an intake of 5 students& MD in Pancha Karma (Ayurvedic Special Curative Therapy) in the academic year 2002 – 03 with an intake of 03 students. MD in Dravya guna, Rasashastra & Bhaishajya kalpana and Roga nidana were started in the year 2013-14, with an intake of 4 students in each. Thus, 30 seats for P.G. course are available cumulatively.The college maintains highest quality of teaching & training in the system of Ayurveda with a modern and scientific outlook. From this kind of approach the college has produced meritorious graduates & post graduates with high success rate in their professional life.
