Dr. Prathap C Reddy
Dr. Prathap C Reddy, the visionary Founder-Chairman of Apollo Hospitals is widely acknowledged as the architect of modern Indian healthcare. He is best described as a compassionate humanitarian, who dedicated his life to bringing world-class healthcare within the economic and geographic reach of millions. The institution that he envisioned and built – Apollo Hospitals, steered a revolution and marked the birth of the private healthcare industry in India
Apollo Hospitals opened its doors in 1983 and introduced international quality healthcare to India, at a cost that was a fraction of comparable costs in the western world. This was Apollo's ?rst act of social responsibility and it underscored the intrinsic social conscience of the organization's business model.
Over the years, Dr. Reddy has carried the torch of healthcare to distant corners of India. Always the visionary, he harnessed technology and insurance to take healthcare to the masses. The pioneering success of telemedicine and innovative insurance in Aragonda, the world's ?rst V-SAT enabled remote village in Andhra Pradesh validated the concept of 'Healthcare for All'. He also envisioned the groundbreaking Apollo Reach Hospitals model, one that takes high quality healthcare to semi urban and rural geographies. This blueprint has been taking good health to the very heart of India.
Facility
Library
The Library is constructed in such a way so as to facilitate students learning. It comprises of Reading Rooms, Journal Section, facilities for Photocopying, Data processing and Internet browsing with good collection of latest edition of books and Journals of both Indian and foreign publications.
Laboratory Facilities
The laboratories for Anatomy, Nutrition, Fundamentals of Nursing Maternal Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Maternity Nursing, Audio Visual Aids and Computers offer best learning facilities to develop the technical skills before the students have practice on patients.
Clinical Experience
The Clinical experience of students are offered at Apollo Hospitals, Speciality Hospital and First Med Hospital which comprises of over 1000 bed strength in all. A variety of patients are available for the students to learn, both male and female, of all ages, at different stages of illness. The faculty are posted for guiding the students in all the areas at a ratio of 1 : 10.
Hostel
The hostel block built in international style stands as a distinctive structure in the whole of the campus is a home away from home for female students. The hostel provides excellent living rooms, recreation facilities, sanitary facilities and good water supply for 24 hours.
Faculty
The transformation of students as outstanding professionals truly lies in the hands of the faculty in any educational institution. The Apollo College of Nursing has distinct faculty with Post graduate qualification coupled with vast experience gleaned from the clinical field.
Co-Curricular and extra Curricular Activities
The Co-curricular and extra curricular activities are organized regularly through Student Nurses Association, NSS and Youth Red Cross. The students participate in various intercollegiate competitions, exhibitions and community development programs.
Sports
The sports facilities within the campus enables the students outdoor games such as Volleyball, throw ball, tennis, basket ball, High jump, Long Jump etc. The indoor games such as table Tennis, Chess, carom Board etc. are provided in the hostel.
