M.ch (Master of Chirurgiae) in plastic surgery is a master's degree postgraduate course which is occurred by the Government Medical College Thiruvananthapuram under the Kerala University of Health Sciences Thrissur. Plastic surgery is the restoration and correction of the human body and its parts. There are lots of different types of surgeries like micro surgeries, hand surgery, healing of burns/reconstructive surgery, and treatment. The Kerala University of Health Sciences covers a curriculum that includes topics such as the history of plastic surgery, Embryology of head and neck ( excluding central nervous system), Leprosy deformities of face Regional anatomy of head and neck, Temporomandibular joint dysfunctions, Pedicled skin flaps, and tubes Fractures –nose, maxilla, mandible, zygoma, orbit – early management and treatment of sequelae, Unstable scarand scar contracture Corrective Rhinoplasty, Orthodontics, Care of wounds, Facial paralysis,Principles of cranio facial surgery, Congenital deformities of the face and jaw bone,Reconstruction of the external ear, and so on. The professionals who undergo this research can lead different roles in their careers as plastic surgeons, cosmetologists, neurosurgeons, assistant surgeons, etc.
