Course
MD. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is a post graduate program of three year duration offered by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bengaluru with the aim of providing training to medical graduates in the area of anatomical science. After the training, the graduate doctor would become a skilled medical officer. Patients with stoke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, amputation and so on are the main focusing area. There is an in-depth analysis of clinical care, patient care, timely medication, and epidemiological and environment related factors of diseases as well. The candidates with 50% mark for MBBS degree (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate is the minimum requirement to get admission into the course.Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences curriculum includes General Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Epidemiology, Research Methodology Physiatry, Occupational Therapy, Post-surgical Orthopedic, Stroke and other Neurological diseases, Cardio-respiratory disease, Musculoskeletal and Rheumatologic disease. The successful candidates are employed in general medication, primary health care, disease diagnosis, epidemiological analysis and so on. There are vast opportunities available in the government sector as well. The qualified doctors would be able to serve in the primary, secondary, and tertiary level hospitals.
