Master of Public Health (MPH) is a postgraduate programme offered by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bengaluru.Two-year Master of Public Health (MPH) is a post-graduate course focuses on improving public health. The student should hold a bachelor degree, preferably in health science. Priority is given to students having work experience in the relevant field. This course focuses on public health practices and improving the quality of health by preventing and controlling diseases, injuries, bio terrorism and factors affecting public health. Public health professionals create awareness and educate the community in preventing illness and research in providing better quality health and safety to the population of all ages. The course emphasised subjects like epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, health policy and health administration, social and behavioural science, public health nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, gender issues, ethics in public health. There is more demand for successfully passed out MPH holders since the world is giving more emphasis on preventing the disease than treating. The MPH holders are professionally trained to work under any worst health scenario and handle epidemic/pandemic professionally.The students can work as an epidemiologist, bio statistician, public health administrator, environmental health director, clinical research coordinator, educator,consultants in government organisations, NGOs and private organisations after the course completion.
